I think factoring in something you rib them about or vice versa could play well also. I think anything that acknowledges that they'll be missed by you and that you were grateful for their presence will go a long way.ĭo you all game and there's something on a shared or crossplay console you could enjoy? Or maybe if you already play and you have enough time you could get controller covers/customized controllers that suit their tastes. Maybe a nice thermal mug? Maybe one with an inside joke? You said it's a small store? Honestly-once a boss who wasn't even leaving gave us gift cards for something or another and I was honestly shocked and delighted-even though I typically struggle with the idea of a gift card-it was more about the acknowledgement. If that boss wasn't prepared to make sure you were well taken care of enough to keep you on-don't feel sorry for taking the opportunity to be seen and treated well.Īs for gifts- I think that really depends on your bond and your budget. That being said-a job? The role itself? The part that doesn't appreciate you? The part that will have you replaced with the bidder allowing the lowest salary for what you do?ĭon't feel sorry for making sure you get paid for what you bring to the table. It's not 'don't feel grief' but rather never forget that while your friends who care about you will miss your presence in the workplace-there is nothing stopping them from remaining your friends. It's one of those things were people like you and I can't help but feel the weight of what we leave behind when moving forward which can also keep us working towards potential. ![]() ![]() Perhaps it's intended as reassurance and a reminder and not so much that you shouldn't experience the bittersweet sorrow that comes with growing in a positive direction. I was very lucky that my co-workers resonated the same energy telling me not to feel guilty. I think when people say don't feel guilty it's intended as support since I am like you and felt the same way leaving.
