![]() The dropdowns at the top of the "lighttable" view let you filter by stars. an ellipse to mark the region, then tweak the exposure settings to affect only that region. To change the exposure of only part of an image, duplicate the "exposure" module, set its "blend" to "drawn mask". Press O to toggle the exposure overlay: overexposed areas in red, underexposed areas in blue. Take a snapshot, select it, then click "0 - original" at the bottom of the history, to view the edited and original in a split view with a slider. ![]() Occasionally useful, but not a great straightening technique in general!) (This technique isn't actually just a rotation, but rather a keystone adjustment which warps the perspective. Click the link button and then "ok" to straighten the horizon. In "crop and rotate", set "keystone" to "horizontal" and drag the top line to align with the horizon. The "crop and rotate" module lets you set different types of grid. Alt+1 to zoom in to 100%, Alt+1 again to zoom to 200%, Alt+3 to go back to original zoom. Press and hold Z to show the image in fullscreen without distractions. (I'm not sure this works won't darktable re-create the XMP based on the data it still has in its library database? See also /u/_paperd_'s comment.) You can also reset the settings of individual modules with the little "reset" button on their top left. Delete the XMP file to reset all modifications to an image. On top of that, you can set "mode" to "automatic" in the "exposure" module to have darktable auto-adjust exposure settings. ![]() A base exposure curve is added automatically during import.
